Scope of work for this project included materials, labor, tools, and equipment to do all the work required for water, sanitary sewer, and storm drain improvements in Bechelli Lane and adjacent streets. Water improvements included replacement of approximately 14,000 linear feet water mains with new polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and ductile iron pipe ranging from 6-inch to 12-inch diameter. In general, water mains were relocated and the existing mains were abandoned in place. Water services and fire hydrants in the project area were also replaced. Sanitary sewer improvements included replacement of approximately 10,000 lineal feet of sanitary sewer mains by pipe bursting and open trench methods with new high density polyethylene (HDPE) and PVC mains ranging from 8-inch to 15-inch diameter. Active sewer laterals were replaced to near the right-of-way boundary, where new lateral cleanouts were installed. Parallel sewer mains and associated manholes in Bechelli lane were abandoned in place. Existing sanitary sewer manholes remained operational were rehabilitated by epoxy lining or replaced. The project also included installation of approximately 1,000 linear feet of new 18-inch to 36-inch storm drain piping, along with new storm drain manholes, catch basins, and area drains.
